About This Opportunity

Applications are now open for the 2026 Margaret F. Williams Memorial Fellowship, a fully funded international fellowship offered by The Asia Foundation in partnership with the Asian Art Museum. This prestigious program supports exchanges among emerging curatorial voices with a focus on Asian and Asian American art, providing a unique platform for professional development and cross-cultural collaboration. The Margaret F. Williams Memorial Fellowship 2026 will support two emerging contemporary art curators—one from Asia and one from the United States—for a residency of up to three months at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. During the residency, fellows will engage with museum professionals, contribute to curatorial research, and deepen their understanding of Asian and Asian American art within a leading cultural institution. This fully funded fellowship covers all major expenses, and there is no application fee. The program is designed to strengthen global curatorial networks, promote artistic exchange, and encourage innovative perspectives in contemporary art. If you are an emerging curator interested in Asian or Asian American art and seeking a fully funded residency opportunity in the United States, the Margaret F. Williams Memorial Fellowship 2026 offers an exceptional opportunity for career advancement and international collaboration.
