About This Opportunity

Applications are now open for the Tomorrow’s Leaders Program 2026, a fully funded scholarship program funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). This prestigious program aims to empower outstanding students from economically disadvantaged communities across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The goal of the Tomorrow’s Leaders Program (TLP) is to develop a generation of young professionals who are equipped with the academic knowledge, leadership skills, and civic awareness needed to drive positive change in their communities and beyond. Through partnerships with top American-style universities such as the American University of Beirut (AUB), the American University in Cairo (AUC), and the Lebanese American University (LAU), participants will pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees while benefiting from a wide range of leadership development and mentorship opportunities. The program emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation, preparing scholars to address real-world challenges in the MENA region. Scholars will also take part in internships, civic engagement projects, and enrichment courses, gaining hands-on experience that complements their academic studies. This fully funded MEPI scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, travel costs, health insurance, and a monthly stipend, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to world-class education. Prior to the program’s launch, applicants will be able to attend informational sessions hosted by partner universities, offering guidance on eligibility requirements, application materials, and university life. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for candidates to interact directly with program representatives and strengthen their applications. Requirements

  • National ID card.
  • Valid passport.
  • Personal statement of 500 words or a 5- to 6-minute video.
  • Social Responsibility Essay which should not be more than 500 words.
  • For undergraduate students, official transcripts for grades 10, 11 and 12 of your secondary school and graduation certificate/diploma is required.
  • For graduate students, official transcript of undergraduate degree and graduation certificate/degree is required.
  • Certificates of extracurricular or any volunteer work activities.
  • Filled application Financial Statement of Tomorrow’s Leaders available at https://production-embark.s3.amazonaws.com/hosted-documents/tomorrowsleadersprogram/TLR_Financial_Statement.pdf.
  • Result of English exam taken while filling the application form.
  • Results of a brief online English assessment completed when filling out the application. P
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • English proficiency results from TOEFL or IELTS if your application is selected.
  • SAT I or SAT II score sheet for American-style high schools.

  • There will be no enrollment fees for undergraduate students.
  • There will be no tuition fees for 4 years for undergraduate students
  • University will provide health insurance.
  • Entrance visa and residency permit fees will be given by host organization.
  • Students will get free accommodation.
  • Students will get a monthly stipend for participating in Tomorrow’s Leaders activities.
  • Textbook allowance will be given.
  • Laptop will be provided for the study duration.
  • 2 round-trip air tickets to home country per year will be given.
  • Students will have access to civic leadership and career-oriented workshops.
  • There will be internship opportunities for participants.
  • Students will get mentorship and guidance from the university faculty.
  • Undergraduate students will have the chance to study at a university in the United States for one semester.
  • Graduate students will have an opportunity to participate in graduate assistantships or research assistantships.

Eligibility

  • Medical school students are not eligible to apply.
  • IELTS and TOEFL test scores are not needed at the time of submitting the application. You will need them later on if you get selected after interview.
  • S. citizens and U.S. legal permanent residents cannot apply.
  • Applicants should have 80% marks in previous academic history.
  • Candidates should belong to one of the countries mentioned below.
  • Graduate applicants have to complete and submit two separate applications while apply to the American University of Beirut and the American University in Cairo. One will be Tomorrow’s Leaders Program graduate application and the other will be separate application to the partner institution.
