About This Opportunity

The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program 2025, funded by the U.S. Department of State through the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), offers fully funded scholarships for talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This prestigious leadership scholarship aims to empower youth who represent the cultural and regional diversity of the MENA region and are committed to positive change in their communities. Through this competitive international scholarship program, selected students will study at top American-style universities in the region, gaining strong academic foundations and essential leadership skills. The program partners with world-recognized liberal arts institutions, including: American University of Beirut (AUB) American University in Cairo (AUC) Lebanese American University (LAU) These universities provide an innovative learning environment designed to build critical thinking, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop future leaders capable of addressing social, economic, and global challenges. What the Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Offers This fully funded scholarship for MENA students provides exceptional opportunities including: Full tuition coverage Leadership training and mentorship Professional development and personal growth support Internships and civic engagement projects Academic and extracurricular enrichment activities Students will apply classroom knowledge in real-life settings through internships, community service projects, and leadership development programs, preparing them to become active change-makers in their home countries and beyond. Upcoming Information Sessions Before the program begins, Tomorrow’s Leaders will conduct live information sessions hosted by the three partner universities. These sessions will help applicants: Understand eligibility requirements Learn required application documents Receive tips for a strong scholarship application Explore university life and available resources Connect with program staff and mentors These sessions are designed to guide prospective applicants in selecting the best university fit and preparing a compelling application.

Requirements

  • National ID card.
  • Valid passport.
  • Personal statement of 500 words or a 5- to 6-minute video.
  • Social Responsibility Essay which should not be more than 500 words.
  • For undergraduate students, official transcripts for grades 10, 11 and 12 of your secondary school and graduation certificate/diploma is required.
  • For graduate students, official transcript of undergraduate degree and graduation certificate/degree is required.
  • Certificates of extracurricular or any volunteer work activities.
  • Filled application Financial Statement of Tomorrow’s Leaders available at https://production-embark.s3.amazonaws.com/hosted-documents/tomorrowsleadersprogram/TLR_Financial_Statement.pdf.
  • Result of English exam taken while filling the application form.
  • Results of a brief online English assessment completed when filling out the application. P
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • English proficiency results from TOEFL or IELTS if your application is selected.
  • SAT I or SAT II score sheet for American-style high schools.

Benefits

  • There will be no enrollment fees for undergraduate students.
  • There will be no tuition fees for 4 years for undergraduate students
  • University will provide health insurance.
  • Entrance visa and residency permit fees will be given by host organization.
  • Students will get free accommodation.
  • Students will get a monthly stipend for participating in Tomorrow’s Leaders activities.
  • Textbook allowance will be given.
  • Laptop will be provided for the study duration.
  • 2 round-trip air tickets to home country per year will be given.
  • Students will have access to civic leadership and career-oriented workshops.
  • There will be internship opportunities for participants.
  • Students will get mentorship and guidance from the university faculty.
  • Undergraduate students will have the chance to study at a university in the United States for one semester.
  • Graduate students will have an opportunity to participate in graduate assistantships or research assistantships.

Eligibility

  • Medical school students are not eligible to apply.
  • IELTS and TOEFL test scores are not needed at the time of submitting the application. You will need them later on if you get selected after interview.
  • S. citizens and U.S. legal permanent residents cannot apply.
  • Applicants should have 80% marks in previous academic history.
  • Candidates should belong to one of the countries mentioned below.
  • Graduate applicants have to complete and submit two separate applications while apply to the American University of Beirut and the American University in Cairo. One will be Tomorrow’s Leaders Program graduate application and the other will be separate application to the partner institution.
