About This Opportunity

Applications are now open for the Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship 2026, officially known as the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP), a fully funded master’s scholarship for international students who wish to study at top universities in the United States, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan. This prestigious scholarship supports students admitted to one of 41 eligible master’s degree programs offered by 24 participating universities worldwide, making it a highly competitive opportunity for those pursuing development-related fields of study. To be eligible, applicants must first receive an unconditional offer of admission, as the Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship application form is only shared with candidates unconditionally accepted into a participating JJ/WBGSP master’s program. There is no application fee for the World Bank Scholarship, and selected scholars receive comprehensive financial benefits covering tuition fees, monthly living allowance, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and travel expenses. Eligibility

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of a developing country.
  • Citizenship: Cannot hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
  • Health: Must be in good health.
  • Education: Must possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) obtained at least three years before the application deadline.
  • Have received unconditional admission to a participating program by the scholarship application deadline.
  • Professional Experience: Must have at least 3 years of full-time, paid development-related employment within the past 6 years. Part-time work may be considered.
