About This Opportunity
The SUSI Exchange Program 2026 in the USA is now open for applications, offering a fully funded 5–6-week leadership exchange program for international undergraduate students. Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Student Leaders focuses on public policy, civic engagement, and democracy. The program offers two tracks: Comparative Public Policymaking at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (open to all genders), and the Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders – Public Policy at the University of Kansas (for women only). Each institute hosts 20 participants from 50+ countries, with all expenses covered, including tuition, travel, accommodation, and cultural activities.
Participants will gain hands-on leadership training through policy hackathons, cultural exchanges, and leadership clinics while exploring iconic U.S. landmarks such as the Smithsonian Museums in Washington D.C., Boston’s Freedom Trail, and Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum. With 3,000+ alumni worldwide, SUSI has a proven impact in shaping global leaders, with 90% reporting enhanced cross-cultural skills. This fully funded USA exchange program 2026 is a unique opportunity to build global networks, experience American culture, and strengthen leadership in public policy and civic engagement.
