About This Opportunity

Applications are now open for the UNESCO World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2026 in South Korea, a prestigious international youth forum focused on heritage preservation and sustainable development. Organized under the framework of the UNESCO World Heritage initiative, the forum will be hosted by the Korea Heritage Service (KHS) and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) in the Republic of Korea from 13–21 July 2026. Held under the theme “World Heritage, Communities and Education: Empowering Youth as Agents of Change,” the UNESCO World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2026 aims to bring together 30 young professionals from around the globe. The program focuses on strengthening the role of youth in preserving, managing, and promoting World Heritage sites while highlighting the importance of community engagement and education in sustainable heritage protection. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, site visits, and collaborative projects designed to explore how local communities and young leaders can contribute to the long-term conservation of World Heritage properties. The forum provides a global platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and leadership development in the field of cultural and natural heritage management. Eligibility

  • Open to all nationals.
  • Age: Between 23 and 32 years old (born between 1994 and 2003).
  • Professional Background: You should be a professional or practitioner in one of these areas:
  • Teachers or educators in schools/universities.
  • Site Managers who look after World Heritage locations.
  • Researchers or innovators focused on Heritage.
  • NGO Staff or community members working on Heritage projects.
  • Experience: You must show that you are already active in World Heritage activities.
  • Passion: A strong desire to talk about youth, communities, and education.
