Wilson Center Fellowship Program 2026 in USA | Fully Funded The Wilson Center Fellowship 2026 in the USA is a fully funded 9-month residential fellowship in Washington D.C. offered by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. It welcomes scholars, professionals, journalists, and public intellectuals from around the world to conduct research, write, and engage with U.S. policymakers. Host Country: United States of America Location: Washington D.C. Fellowship Benefits: Stipend of $90,000 for 9 months Furnished office with computer access Conference rooms, library, and dining facilities Part-time research assistant support Participation in seminars, meetings & policy discussions International exposure in Washington D.C. Eligibility Criteria: Open to citizens of all countries Valid passport & J-1 visa (if applicable) PhD holders with publications or professionals with equivalent expertise English language proficiency Not currently enrolled in a degree program Project proposals must be policy-relevant (not partisan) Required Documents: Completed application form Updated CV (max 3 pages) List of publications Project proposal (max 5 pages) Bibliography (max 3 pages) Two reference letters (submitted directly) Deadline: 📅 October 1, 2025

Requirements

  • Complete Fellowship Application Form.
  • An updated CV (not more than 3 pages).
  • a complete list of your publications.
  • a comprehensive Project Proposal (not more than five single-spaced pages).
  • a bibliography for the project that should include all primary sources and relevant secondary sources in not more than three pages.
  • Two reference letters which should be submitted by directly to the Center by the referees.

Eligibility

  • Should be citizens or permanent residents from any country of the world.
  • Must have a valid passport and get J-1 visa if they are already in the US.
  • Academic candidates must have completed their post-doctoral studies and published a book or monograph in addition to their PhD dissertation.
  • Policymakers or practitioners with an equivalent degree of expertise.
  • English language proficiency because the Centre aims to promote idea sharing among its fellows.
  • Should not be working on a degree.
  • Proposals should not be related to advocacy of a particular party.
