  • Images/ photographs.
  • Passport
  • Proof of age (Identity card)

Benefits

  • There is no entry fee.
  • Photographers from all over the world can participate.
  • A total of €11,000 in cash prizes will be distributed among winners of 6 categories.
  • The Peace Image of the Year will be awarded with a cash prize of €7,000.
  • It will be displayed in the Austrian Parliament for one year and will also be included in the permanent art collection of the Austrian Parliament.
  • 3 winners in the Stories category will each receive €1,000.
  • 1 winner in the single picture category will receive €1,000.
  • 1 Children’s Peace Image of the Year will receive €1,000.
  • All winning works will receive the Alfred Fried Peace Medal and be invited to the award ceremony in Vienna in September 2026, with travel and accommodation covered. Selected images may also be featured in international exhibitions.
  • In the children’s award category, the winner and his or her parents will also attend the ceremony in Vienna.

Eligibility

  • Applicants under 15 years old must apply for the Children’s Peace Image of the Year category.
  • Applicants aged 15 and above must apply for the main Global Peace Photo Award category.
  • Photos submitted for the Story category must not be older than three years.
  • A caption in English (up to 2000 characters) must be submitted with each image or story.
  • Images must be uploaded as .jpg files with at least 3000 pixels on the longer side.
  • Images must not contain watermarks, logos, names, or borders.
  • Applicants can submit:
  • Up to 99 images in the Single Image category.
  • 5 to 12 images in the Story category based on a single theme.
  • In the Children’s Peace Image of the Year category, multiple images can be submitted, including both single images and stories.
