About This Opportunity

Work for the IMF, work for the world. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is now accepting applications for the IMF Fund Internship Program (FIP) 2026 in the United States. This fully funded summer internship offers an incredible opportunity for students from around the globe to gain professional experience at the IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. The IMF FIP 2026 provides interns the chance to work on meaningful projects, gain practical exposure to global financial systems, and collaborate with top economists and policy experts. Each year, around 50 outstanding students are selected to join the IMF Internship Program for a period of 10 to 12 weeks, typically running between June and September 2026. Eligibility

  • For Economist: Be within one to two years of completing a PhD in macroeconomics or a related field.
  • For Legal Department: You must be one to two years away from completing your LL.M., J.D., or equivalent law degree.
  • Maintain a student status at the time of the internship.
  • Age below 32.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and computer skills.
