London has hosted negotiations, treaties and summits for centuries. This February, 300-plus young people have the chance to spend three days there discussing how diplomacy itself is changing.
The Fully Funded London Youth Diplomacy Forum 2027 runs 2-4 February 2027 in London, United Kingdom. It is organised by the Youth Diplomatic Academy (YDA), a US-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you’re a student, an early-career professional or a community leader interested in foreign policy, this is one of the more focused diplomacy forums on the calendar.
What Is the London Youth Diplomacy Forum?
The forum looks at how diplomacy is changing through technology, public engagement and greater youth participation. It brings together young leaders, aspiring diplomats, policymakers, students and members of the diplomatic community.
Delegates join high-level discussions, diplomatic simulations, structured debates and networking sessions. The aim is to connect what you learn in class with practical exposure to negotiation, decision-making and communication, with experienced diplomats in the room.

How the Airfare Works (Read This Before You Apply)
The Fully Funded airfare is reimbursed after the programme. It isn’t paid upfront.
- If you’re selected, you receive a confirmation email with an approved airfare budget based on your country of residence.
- You book your own flight within that budget.
- You’re reimbursed after you complete the programme, subject to completing any required post-event activities.
If you can’t cover the flight upfront, plan for that before you accept a Fully Funded seat.
How the Selection Works
Applications are reviewed on a holistic basis. The Selection Committee looks at:
- Diplomatic interest and orientation: interest in diplomacy, international affairs and global decision-making
- Policy engagement potential: ability to understand, analyse and contribute to governance discussions
- Professional and academic relevance: involvement in international relations, diplomacy or public policy
- Communication and representation skills: expressing ideas clearly in formal, international settings
- Purpose and future direction: a clear link to your long-term goals
- Cross-cultural engagement: willingness to work with people from different backgrounds
The committee places you in the category it thinks fits best. You don’t choose.
How to Apply
- Fill out the application form with accurate details.
- The selection board reviews it against the eligibility criteria, your motivation and how well you fit the forum.
- Receive your invitation letter by email, with instructions for next steps.
If you aren’t selected for a funded seat, you can still join through the self-funded category. YDA shares those details when results are announced.
