The Tsinghua University Amgen Scholars Program 2026 offers an exceptional opportunity for undergraduate students interested in science, biotechnology, and drug discovery to gain hands-on research experience through an intensive 8-week residential summer internship in China. Requirements

  • Selected scholars must stay for the entire program period.
  • You cannot take any other courses or part-time work during the program.
  • Scholars must live in the accommodation provided by Tsinghua University.
  • Participation in lab meetings, orientation sessions, academic activities, and social events is compulsory.
  • Scholars are expected to be on time for all scheduled activities.
  • You will need to prepare a poster presentation about your research project.
  • At the end of the summer, each scholar must submit a research paper to the program director.

  • Filled personal information form.
  • Answer all open questions.
  • Filled statement of purpose form.
  • Official current transcript signed and stamped.
  • Two reference letters.
  • Score of English language proficiency.
  • Any relevant supplemental materials.

Eligibility

  • You must be an undergraduate student in Asia.
  • You should have completed at least one full year of your bachelor’s degree before the program starts.
  • You must still have at least one semester or quarter left after the summer program (students graduating before the program begins are not eligible).
  • You should have a good academic record.
  • You need to be able to communicate in English. If English is not your first language, you will need to submit an English test score (IELTS / TOEFL / Cambridge / TOEIC).
  • Students who are interested in research and may plan for further studies like a PhD are highly encouraged to apply.
