Ready to start your fully funded summer internship in Japan? Applications are now open for the UTRIP Summer Internship 2026 at the University of Tokyo. UTRIP is a prestigious six-week research internship program that will take place from June 24 to August 4, 2026. This fully funded internship is open to students from all nationalities and provides an excellent opportunity to work at one of Japan’s top universities. The University of Tokyo Research Internship Program welcomes students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or integrated bachelor’s degree program. There is no application fee, and IELTS is not required for applicants studying in English-medium institutions. UTRIP is known for offering hands-on research experience, mentorship from leading professors, and exposure to Japan’s top academic environment. Eligibility
- The UTRIP Internship is open to all Nationals.
- Completed at least one full year of a bachelor’s degree program.
- Have at least one semester or quarter remaining in their undergraduate studies after the internship.
- Students enrolled in integrated Bachelor’s/Master’s programs are eligible.
- UTRIP is open to students in science, engineering, and all other relevant fields.
- Previous Experience is not required.
- English Language Proficiency:
- TOEFL or IELTS scores may be required.
- Exemptions may be granted for students who have received a continuous 8-year English-medium education.
- Expired test scores are accepted.
