About This Opportunity

The McCain Global Leaders Program 2026, offered by the McCain Institute, is a prestigious fully funded international leadership initiative designed for emerging leaders working on global thematic and technical focus areas identified for their respective regions. The program will select 25 outstanding applicants from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability status, or political perspective, and organize them into regional cohorts. Inspired by the legacy of John McCain, the program equips leaders with the skills needed to promote freedom, democracy, and human rights in today’s complex and rapidly changing global environment. Participants take part in both in-person and online learning sessions throughout the year, gaining practical leadership training through peer mentoring, collaborative problem-solving, and a comprehensive development curriculum. The program also includes international visits, including Vietnam and other global destinations, enabling fellows to build meaningful connections within their home regions and across a diverse global network. The McCain Global Leaders Program prepares emerging changemakers to effectively address regional and international challenges while continuing a strong commitment to democratic values and human rights.
